All About Ms. Hope
Welcome to a Magical Fourth Grade year at the Academy. I am the Language Arts and Science teacher at the Academy for Teaching and Learning. I have been teaching for 26 years and I must say I have enjoyed the journey of learning, exploring, taking risks, and growing with my students. It has been a blessing touching the lives of so many children and watching them beam with excitement as they are learning new concepts, skills, and strategies. It warms my heart as a teacher when I witness my students take leaps and bounds and grow as learners. It's important to me as a teacher to create Magical Moments with my students and to always find the Magic in every situation. Educating students for me, is learning about my students and teaching the whole child and not just the academics that's required of each student.
I am a mother of two sons Nehemiah and Gabriel Hope. I have lived in Chester all my life and attended Winthrop University. I started teaching in Lancaster County School District teaching third, fourth and fifth grade reading, and second grade. Four years later I came to Chester County School District to work teaching fourth grade. I am National Board Certified and I have a Master's Degree in Divergent Learning and Reading from Francis Marion University and Walden University. I've always had a passion to teach and wanting to make a difference in young lives. I've been teaching as long as I could remember even as a young child. I must say I had some very smart dolls and stuff animals.
I enjoy reading and writing poetry. One of my favorite past times is to take a walk in the park and enjoy nature or having a picnic. Spending time with my family is very important to me and something I enjoy as well. I love learning new things and being adventurous. It's very important to live life to the fullest and never let fear hold you back because you can always make the impossible possible.
"Life is like a camera just focus on what's important and capture the good times. Develop from the negatives and if things don't work out just take another shot."
